Overview
2FAuth Companion is an iOS companion app for self-hosted 2FAuth instances. This policy explains how the app handles data and what we do not collect.
Information We Process
2FAuth Companion stores the data required to generate MFA/2FA codes locally on your device.
- Secrets used for code generation are stored in encrypted form using iOS security protections
- Data is used only to operate the app and generate codes locally on your device
- Data from the app is never sent to our servers
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, tracking data, or telemetry from the app. We do not sell personal information.
Data Storage and Security
Your 2FA data remains under your control through your self-hosted setup. On-device data is protected using standard iOS security mechanisms, and transmitted data security between the app and your server depends on your server configuration and transport security settings.
Third-Party Services
The companion app does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Apple may process limited diagnostics or usage data under Apple's own policies and your device settings.
Your Choices
You can:
- Stop using the app at any time
- Remove local app data by uninstalling the app
- Manage server-side data on your own self-hosted 2FAuth instance
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
